Chain Fusion Day at Bitcoin Nashville

As Bitcoin L2s and sidechains continue to gain traction for developing Bitcoin applications, it was only fitting for Chain Fusion to leave its mark on Nashville this year during Bitcoin 2024 with a day full of brilliant speakers sharing their insights and opinions.

Hosted at Johnny Cash’s Bar & BBQ, this was actually the second Chain Fusion day ever, with the first one taking place at EthCC about a month earlier. Events like this one are especially fun—everyone there was at least interested in ICP, and at most, a day-one OG. After spending a few days at the largest Bitcoin conference, it was invigorating to be surrounded by so many people deeply involved in the IC, leading to an overflow of engaging conversations. In celebration of the event we are excited to share that you can now claim your free ordinal to remember it by, even if you did not attend. Click here to claim your free Nexus-xxiii ordinal!

As if a venue full of people equally interested with the Internet Computer and Bitcoin wasn’t enough, Dfinity did an amazing job of assembling a lineup of speakers that covered a massive range of topics. The night kicked off with NeeBoo announcing an entirely new meta-protocol built on the Atomicals protocol, which he and his team have been working on. This segued right into a panel moderated by Bob Bodily about meta-protocols, which included the one and only Domo—creator of BRC-20—along with NeeBoo from AstoX, and members from the OlyWallet and APRO Oracle teams.

The event started strong and just kept gaining momentum! After metaprotocols, we were honored to hear from Muneeb Ali, Co-Founder of Stacks and CEO of Trust Machines. Muneeb spoke about the history of Bitcoin development, L2 opportunities as a whole, and how they can be used to grow the Bitcoin ecosystem. Seeing two ecosystems come together to support each other like this is how Web3 will succeed as a whole.

The event continued with speakers and panels on a range of topics, including Investment Trends in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Mining and Tokenization, Scaling Solutions, and of course, the Chain Fusion Toolset for building Bitcoin applications on the Internet Computer! We heard from founders and team members of BitFinity, Omnity, LokaMining, BitcoinLayers, Bioniq, Dfinity, Sats Ventures, UTXO Management, and more! You can check out the complete list of speakers here!

The day flew by, and once the speakers wrapped up, it was time to kick back and relax! Everyone was picking out their free swag, and the Chain Fusion cowboy hats were a massive hit. There were even ICP-branded frosted Oreo cookies, which I was skeptical of at first but came around to after one bite. Being surrounded by so many passionate people, enjoying delicious food, having a couple of drinks, and listening to a live musical performance was the perfect end to such a fun day. It’s truly exhilarating to see how far the Internet Computer has come. We’ve only just begun to make our mark on the Bitcoin ecosystem, and as Bitcoin L2s continue to grow, so will the network.
